About Yigal Rifkind, Barrister & Solicitor

Yigal Rifkind began his practice in 2004, after practicing mortgage enforcement and repossession for Meyer, Wassenaar & Banach LLP. As many new lawyers do, he began by taking a wide variety of walk-in clients in many areas of the law, and also taught administrative, immigration and refugee law at Seneca College's Newnham Campus.

Eventually he narrowed his practice to a few areas of particular interest to him: real estate, business, and wills and estates. The firm moved to Yonge and Sheppard, and now concentrates on those three areas. We handle an extensive amount of litigation work, especially in real estate.

Our litigation practice focuses on results. We are realistic about the limitations of Canada's court system, and have a good trial record because we do not take cases to court if they are unlikely to succeed. We are respectful of your financial and practical needs: If we are not sure your case will succeed at trial, we will pursue alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration.

We see every case as unique, and think creatively to find the best solutions.

Our non-litigation practice focuses on ensuring that our clients are protected from future disputes. We are diligent in our work to ensure that all administrative processes are completed efficiently and correctly, all contracts are properly negotiated and drafted, and our clients' interests are protected.

Our office has a convenient downtown location, on public transportation close to the Yonge and Sheppard subway station.

We offer free consultations for certain parts of our practice such as wills and estates, and do not accept credit cards.
